As you might imagine, I agree. I thought about speculating how Republicans would react to a murder charge, but decided to focus on the actual words of several prominent Republicans.

I think the primary arguement that Trump and others are making are that because he is running for president, the indictments are election interference. I have not been hearing them say that any crime by an ex-president should be exempt from prosecution.
