In His Own Words — President Trump and Due Process
In an interview with Terry Moran of ABC News, President Trump confirms fears that he has abandoned the rule of law
President Trump has an Achilles' Heel. He can’t resist a chance to be in the news.
Many of Trump’s encounters with the news have been disasters. Unable to control what he says in response to questions that should have been anticipated, he indicts himself. He repeats claims that he won the 2020 election. He describes the January 6 insurrectionists as “patriots.” And he defends Vladimir Putin, calling him “a genius” on more than one occasion.
On April 29, Trump sat down for an interview with Terry Moran of ABC News in the Oval Office. The interview did not go well for the President.
ABC has posted a transcript of the entire, apparently unedited, interview online. Please read it. If you are a little bit worried about the President’s mental health, the interview will change your mind. Donald Trump's often disjointed, self-incriminating comments will convince you that America has much to worry about Trump and autocratic actions.
