Let me politely disagree with your comment that Biden “surrendered” Afghanistan. President Trump negotiated a treaty with the Taliban that committed the U.S. to leave by May, 2021. That, in the view of some observers set the stage for how the withdrawal played out.

I believe that Biden deserves criticism for how he executed the withdrawal, but that his decision to withdraw was sound.
