Thank you for reading the piece and for your comment. I'm on a different page. I view some of the explanations for the war that don't mention slavery as purposely avoiding mentioning slavery.

I am not a historian and am aware of Lincoln's perspetive on the Civil War. I believe that somehow, if slavery did not exist in the 19th century, there would not have been a civil war.
