The piece was written before November 3. I am watching the same news that you are. Trump did much better than I anticipated. I am trying to figure out why. Given his record on the pandemic, absence of empathy, and racist statements, I had assumed more voters would reject him.

I was wrong in my prediction of the election results but, I think, not in my assessment of Trump and the problems with today’s Republican party.

And, based on the news I am watching this morning, I expect Biden to win the electoral college (he has already won the popular vote).
