Trump’s destruction of the Republican party accelerates on February 28. That’s when he addresses the Conservative Political Action Committee. He will address the future of the Republican party, something he sees in the mirror each morning when shaving.
He will tell attendees that he is that future. He also will deliver a fresh batch of racism, criticizing President Biden for his just-announced amnesty program for illegal immigrants and for canceling “the wall.”
Mitch McConnell, Liz Cheney, and at least half a dozen other RINOs are also into for a tongue lashing.
Although there will be no surprises from Mr. Trump, it is worth watching how the audience will react. A recent poll suggests that despite January 6 and widely anticipated criminal and civil litigation highlighting his true character, many Republicans remain ready to follow Trump, even if it means leaving the Republican party.
