You may be right. The "finger" was interpreted in the British press as well as here as an expression of distate for Trump.

I am no expert on the monarchy, but, for what it's worth, it looked to me as though he purposely "flipped the bird." By the way, that term was and remains common in the area where I grew up and live today (the D.C. area).
